G\u00e9n\u00e9ralement utilis\u00e9s \u00e0 des fins de diagnostic, les tomodensitom\u00e9tries sont souvent effectu\u00e9es pour diagnostiquer le cancer car ils peuvent illustrer des diff\u00e9rences minuscules dans les tissus mous et durs avec l'avantage suppl\u00e9mentaire qu'ils ne sont pas invasifs, ce qui \u00e9conomise le patient le traumatisme de la chirurgie exploratoire. Alors qu'une radiographie normale ne montre que de l'os et qu'une IRM ne montre que les vaisseaux sanguins et les tissus mous, un scanner montre une image 3D nette de l'os, du sang et des tissus mous. Le scanner \u00e0 faisceau conique poss\u00e8de un avantage par rapport \u00e0 un scanner normal, car le faisceau de rayons X en forme de c\u00f4ne assure que le patient passe moins de temps \u00e0 \u00eatre expos\u00e9 aux radiations, alors que le scanner est \u00e9galement plus petit. Le temps de balayage dure g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement moins d'une minute, alors que la dose de rayonnement est \u00e9galement plus de 10 fois inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle d'un scanner normal.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Risques<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>L'\u00e9quipement \u00e9met des rayonnements ionisants, pr\u00e9sentant des risques.
