What is Cheekbone (Zygoma) Implant?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Zygoma implant is a form of treatment that we call cheekbone implant. This technique is a technique that we recommend to our patients who have too much melting in the upper jaw bone and not eligable for traditional dental implants. In addition, surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation can be quite difficult in patients with advanced edentulous maxilla after tumor surgery. The purpose of this improvement is not only to provide an acceptable cosmetic, but also to restore oral functions such as swallowing, chewing and vocalization. Patients with severely fused maxilla and other symptoms do not have sufficient bone volume to accommodate standard implants. Cheekbones are bones of sufficient strength and thickness for implant application. With this technique, which is applied to the cheekbone by using specially made implants of 4.5-5 cm length, we can make fixed prosthetic teeth for our patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How is Zygoma Implant Treatment Done?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Zygoma implant, that is, cheekbone implant, is a technique that requires more knowledge and skill than normal implant applications. This technique; It is also applied to patients who have lost their upper jaw due to accident, jaw tumor or maxillectomy, as a support for prosthesis construction. In zygoma implant treatment, the implant is placed in the cheekbone.<\/p>\n<\/div>

What are the Points to Consider Before Zygoma Implant Treatment?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are very sensitive diagnosis and planning stages in the preparation process for the zygoma implant procedure. Before the implant treatment, the patient's tomography should be taken and the anatomical structure of the upper jaw should be examined. An otolaryngologist should also be examined before the implant application. Because the area to be implanted is very close to the sinus area, it is necessary to check whether there is any normality in the patient's sinus area.<\/p>\n<\/div>

What Should Be Done After Zygoma Implant?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In the cheekbone implant, the same conditions that should be considered after normal implant application are applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patients should use the given drugs regularly and should not eat hot food for a few days. In particular, patients should not eat hard foods under any circumstances during the temporary prosthesis period. Patients must be fed a soft diet. The reason for this is to reduce the load on dental implants. Patients can start normal food consumption with permanent prostheses made 3 months after the procedures are performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another important point to be considered is that in case of a fracture in temporary prostheses, it is absolutely necessary to go to the dentist. Because broken prostheses can cause implant loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
